It Isn’t Scary

It isn’t scary, to be out of your head if you’ve poured out the darkness that lives in your heart and the pain that lives in your body. When your heart is awake you don’t need to guard it. When your body is awake you don’t need to mind it.

You’re more than your head and you’re only afraid because you’ve forgot. “What will happen when the surface has gone away?” The inside will come out to play.

What seeds have you sewn in your secret garden? Have you sewn love in your hands? Have you sewn a lucid light in your heart?

You are not the eye. You is more than what you see. The eye is just one point of change, where a decision can be made.

Chris, this is so exquisite. My eyes are welling slightly, not for sadness, but for joy – for joy’s sake – for the realisation that we are more than we “imagine” we are, that is, just a mind trapped in a body. You are right – there is no fear when we let go of the preconception that consciousness exists only as long as it is “attached” to a physical form. And when we realise our hearts are both formed and “formless….”

I love the line, “Have you sewn a lucid light in your heart?” This is a question some may misunderstand, but beautiful prose for those of us who think in poems. And the last line has given me a static charge; the hair on my arms is standing on end. So true, so true; your wisdom never fails to leave me with new things to consider – and new ways of considering them.

Thank you for sharing the lucid light in your heart.

    Thank you so much, Stace.

Your enjoyment of my writing means a lot to me.

“You are right – there is no fear when we let go of the preconception that consciousness exists only as long as it is “attached” to a physical form.”

A reciprocal to that is that I feel consciousness isn’t just disembodied, or the personality, the spark behind the eyes that we usually identify with. I think consciousness permeates our bodies, emotional, energetic and physical. When their pain is released and they have been healed, they do not need to be controlled. It isn’t scary to let your heart and your body guide you as much as your mind then.

As you say “…we realise our hearts are both formed and “formless….”
